Goodfellow And Co clothing was founded in 2015 by two friends, Mark Goodfellow and James Co, who shared a passion for style and quality clothing. After years of frustration trying to find affordable yet fashionable menswear, Mark and James decided to launch their own direct-to-consumer clothing company.
Based in San Francisco, Goodfellow And Co aims to make great style accessible to men everywhere. We create versatile, high-quality basics and essentials for the modern wardrobe. Everything is designed in-house and made with care using premium fabrics.
Our focus is on fit, fabric and details – we sweat the small stuff so you don’t have to. The result is thoughtfully designed pieces that transition seamlessly from work to weekend. We eliminate the middleman so we can offer sharp styles at fair prices.
Our Story
Mark and James met while studying business at UC Berkeley. Between classes, they always talked about their struggles finding clothes that fit well and reflected their personal styles without costing a fortune.
After graduation, they went their separate ways – Mark pursued marketing roles at a couple of startups while James went straight to Wall Street. But they stayed in touch and kept circling back to the same conversation.
In 2015 over drinks at their favorite SF bar, they decided to finally take action on their idea. Mark and James put together a business plan, pooled their savings and brought on a talented team of designers and garment experts. After many long days and late nights, Goodfellow And Co opened for business just 10 months later.
We started off small, offering just a few basic shirt and pant styles. But the response was so positive that we’ve expanded our catalog every season since. Five years in, we now offer a full line of apparel and accessories.
While we’ve grown over the years, our original vision remains the same: deliver thoughtfully made, on-trend essentials directly to our customers at an unbelievable value. We promise quality without compromise, so you can build the wardrobe of your dreams.
Our Values
Everything we do at Goodfellow And Co stems from our core values:
Quality Materials
We only use fabrics and materials that meet our strict standards. Our cotton is substantial yet soft. Our denim is rigid yet flexible. Our leather is supple yet sturdy. We work closely with our mills and tanneries to ensure consistency across all our fabrics and leather.
Precise Construction
Every design is engineered for durability with reinforced stress points, neatly finished seams and buttons that won’t pop off. We use specialist laundries that treat fabrics gently and eco-friendly dyes. Pieces should feel better after multiple washes, not fall apart.
On Point Design
Minimal yet modern. Classic yet current. We distill wardrobe staples down to their essential elements and accentuate them with thoughtful details. Our versatile pieces effortlessly transition from desk to dinner. You’ll reach for them constantly.
Honest Pricing
By selling directly to you online, we cut out all the middlemen. We pass the savings from our streamlined supply chain back to you. No inflated markups, just stellar quality at a sensible cost.
Sustainable Operations
We aim to reduce textile waste and our carbon footprint across the production cycle. We use recycled and eco-friendly materials whenever possible. Our services are solar-powered, and we meticulously track energy usage. We also partner with charities like One Tree Planted to give back.
Exceptional Service
Our customer service team is available by phone and email 6 days a week. We offer free shipping and returns in the US. We go above and beyond to make every interaction genuinely helpful and hassle-free.
The bottom line – we care deeply about quality, sustainability, design and value. We pour our hearts into creating pieces you’re proud to wear every day. Your satisfaction means everything.

Our Design And Production Process
Ever wonder how we make such top-notch gear so efficiently? Here’s an inside look at our design and production process:
Ideation
Our talented in-house design team tracks the latest trends while drawing inspiration from road trips, nature, art, music, film and real guys on the street. They brainstorm hundreds of concepts each season, focusing on wearability and versatility.
Prototyping
We create initial samples from the best ideas using recycled fabrics. We test the fits on models with diverse body types and make refinements. Next, we produce small runs with our final fabrics for further testing before bulk production.
Fabric Sourcing
Over the years, we’ve built partnerships with some of the best mills around the world. We work closely with them to develop custom fabrics that meet our standards for softness, durability and sustainability.
Manufacturing
Our lean supply chain includes a network of small manufacturers we’ve vetted for quality and ethical practices. Producing in small batches at multiple facilities gives us flexibility to meet demand. We inspect every order thoroughly before shipping.
Distribution
Products go directly from our manufacturers to our warehouses to you. By controlling the process end-to-end, we eliminate markups and waste while ensuring flawless quality. Our warehouses use recycled packaging and carbon-neutral shipping.
Customer Feedback
Your input helps us improve. Tell us what you love about our products and what we can do better. We’ll keep refining our fits, fabrics, styles and services based on real customer experiences.
The result is a collection of pieces made efficiently through innovation, care and attention to every detail. Our process enables us to maintain outstanding standards at accessible price points.
Our Commitment To Sustainability
At Goodfellow And Co, we believe in making quality clothing while also protecting the planet. We aim to reduce our environmental impact across the production cycle with initiatives like:
Eco-Friendly Materials
We use organic cotton, recycled polyester, lyocell, hemp and other sustainable fabrics. These have a lower carbon footprint compared to conventional textiles. For instance, organic cotton uses 91% less water and 62% less energy while generating 46% less CO2 emissions.
Responsible Manufacturing
Our facilities use renewable energy, efficient equipment and eco-friendly dyes/treatments. We work with manufacturers that ensure fair wages and safe conditions for workers. We also partner with companies close to our warehouses to reduce transport emissions.
Minimal Packaging
Our shipping materials include recycled paper, biodegradable plastic bags and compostable tape. We’re also reducing paper waste in our offices by digitizing more processes. Our goal is to minimize disposable packaging across all our facilities.
Carbon Offsets
We purchase high-quality carbon offsets to negate the greenhouse gas emissions we haven’t eliminated yet. Our offsets fund initiatives like reforestation which remove carbon from the atmosphere. This makes our operations 100% carbon neutral.
Charitable Partnerships
We donate 1% of sales to environmental nonprofits who share our vision through 1% For The Planet. We also plant a tree through One Tree Planted with every order. So far, we’ve funded the planting of over 10,000 trees.
Responsible Disposal
We encourage customers to reuse or recycle any packaging. Any returns or damaged items get donated, recycled or safely disposed rather than ending up in landfills.
We’ll continue to innovate and invest in making our supply chain greener. But sustainability is a journey, and we still have more work to do. We appreciate when our customers share feedback on how we can improve.
